Final Project 1

  1. I love the brightness of the colors in this picture! Although it's so bright, it's also subtle, like if you looked at it quickly, it could be mistaken for an unmanipulated photo of very colorful trash. I think the way you did the cups are my favorite, they seem so flat in a very interesting, Andy Warhol kind of way.

  2. I like this composition with placing this on a diagonal however i think you could have pushed the non local color a lot more, the grass is still green in you image and the cups are still white. I feel it was a good concept to make colorful trash it makes me think of that phrase about one mans trash can be another's treasure but i think you could have pushed the treasure aspect more with the usage of color.

  3. I also like how the blue plates sort of arc across the frame, but your eye would be able to move around it more easily if it weren't for that little bright yellow thing sticking out of the top. It's a little distracting. And, I too am curious as to why the cups aren't as vibrantly colored as the rest of the trash.

  4. haha the first think i thought of was picnic gone crazy. I like the use of color, although i agree with Brandon that the yellow at the top is a little distracting, maybe bringing down the opacity just a little would help. Love the diagonal the plates make, its definitely needed to make this image successful :)

  5. i like the reference of the red trash bags to santas gift bag. the diagonal pulls you across the image and allows you to see it as a whole. i guess i'm still not crazy about the cups, i think they could be a good opportunity to really push the non local color. and as far as the yellow thing, it would have been better with either more in the frame, or not at all.

  6. I really wish the grass was a less natural color. Everything else is so differently colored, the grass just seems to still be in the same color as the original shot. Composition-wise, the shot is very well constructed. Great use of line, texture, all the words we learn in foundation studios.

  7. Again great use of the diagonal, really pulling your eye through the image. I agree that the yellow object at the top is distracting. In a way I can understand you choice to leave the grass green, but that is all in what you are trying to get across to the viewer.

  8. love the Pop Art like quality to it, the colors are so exciting! the smooth textures steer it away from digital photography experience more towards painting.
